Post #1 of 5 Day Writing Challenge...

Not having a job can be exausting! I'm not the type of person that sleeps all day. I don't watch a lot of tv. So how do you get through the day?
Well, I went outside and read something inspirational to keep my spirits up, then I walked to the library and started reading a biography about comedian Flip Wilson . I looked for jobs, did a little networking, and now I'm blogging.

5 Day Writing Challenge...

So, blogging, is not hard, but it can be a hard thing to keep up. So I challenge myself to a 5 Day Writing Challeng. What that basically means is that I have to write a post for 5 days in a row. So does this count? Post #1...Just kidding. This won't count as my first writing, but before I do my first post, I just want to write out reasons why it's difficult to keep up with a blog.

#1- No computer
#2- Lack of ideas
#3- No time
#4- Scared my writing won't be good
#5- Being too focused on the layout

Ok, well now the excuses are out the way...let me get started:-)

Adventures in NY

I've been I'm New York for over a month. Wow, I can't believe it. My money is low, but all my basic needs and sometimes more are met. So far I've taken an improv class, I went to the love & hip hop taping, and I was part of the live audience of MTV's Sarah & Nikki show. Different people, friends and/or family have taken me out to eat. Some days I'll have more than one person offering. I think my favorite place so far has been this place called Dinosaurs in Harlem. The macaroni was delicious! So I'm thankful for everything. Everything has not been perfect, but I only want to dwell on the good stuff. I'm still waiting to begin my career, so I'm trying my best to remain positive.

Staying Positive

When taking a leap of faith things don't always immediately fall in place. I've been here a little over 3 weeks now. A lot of good things have happened, but my jobless situation is still the same. For some reason it's easier to think about everything that's not right, so I have to take control of my mind and be thankful for everything that is right.
1) I'm in New York
2) I've met some very helpful great people 3) I'm getting to know my extended family better, and there is so much more. I know this whole process is going to make me a better person.
